Find plenty of action-packed adventure with Mario and Luigi in this compilation game featuring the classic Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3. Designed for play on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, the 16-megabit cartridge boasts updated music, backgrounds and art, while maintaining the classic gameplay that made the originals famous. This game also boasts the inclusion of Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, a sequel released for the first time in the United States, that brings about all new adventures like you have never experienced before. Conveniently save progress in each game using the battery backup, making it easy to play this timeless favorite without interruption.

The game was very successful and well-received upon release and eventually became a "Player's Choice Million Seller". Prior to May 31, 1994, Super Mario All-Stars was available as a promotion by Nintendo, giving the game away for free if a Super Nintendo Entertainment System was purchased. The proof of purchase and $3.50 USD—to cover postage and handling—was required to be mailed into Nintendo and Super Mario All-Stars was sent out to the buyer.
